Change the vSphere Web Client Timeout value.

Ok, this took me a while to find, but once done I have never had to sign-in again:To enable your session to stay logged in (vCenter Web Client):

  • Connect to your server using SSH or drop to a console.
  • edit: /var/lib/vmware/vsphere-client/webclient.properties file
  • Change the value (remove the HASH at the start of the line): session.timeout = -120 – That is ANY negative number or ZERO.
  • Restart the server.

Note: According to VMware you can just restart the Web Client Service, but for me it only worked some of the time. ¬†Easier to restart the server…
