Error: NET::ERR_CERT_INVALID on Intermediate certificate.

This happens when you are using Google Chrome and your PC is an older Windows XP generation PC.

  • Using Internet Explorer is not an option, it does not work/display the web-page.
  • using Chrome gives you the NET::ERR_CERT_INVALID error displayed.

You have 2 options to fix this problem:

  1. Upgrade your PC to Windows 7/8/8.1
  2. Purchase a full CERT, if you are the owner of the site.
  3. Use Firefox.

(see what I did there?)

In my case, upgrading the CERT from a FREE COMODO CERT to a 2 YEAR SSL CERT (INSTANT) solved the problem.
