Overclocking could damage your system – know what you do!

To overclock you have to either take your SD card and mount on a PC to edit the file or remount your /flash directory as RW.  I am discussing the latter:

  • mount /flash -o remount,rw
  • cd /flash
  • vi config.txt (You can also use nano, but I am old-school!)
  • Scroll/find “Overclock” and change values.
  • # arm_freq=700
    # core_freq=250
    # sdram_freq=400
    # over_voltage=0

  • I use TURBO (Live fast/die hard) settings!  Remember to remove the #…
  • arm_freq=1000
    core_freq=500
    sdram_freq=500
    over_voltage=6

  • reboot
