To get your clock synced so that it is not stuck in 1970, create a /storage/.config/autostart.sh file and add the following:  (Remember to chmod +x the file…)

#!/bin/sh
(sleep 30; \
/usr/sbin/ntpdate pool.ntp.org; \
)&

Testing if it works, reboot and check your time.

To get your sound to work over HDMI (For some reason, and I am still investigating this, the system-sounds is missing on my system) do the following in an ssh console:

  • mount -o remount,rw /flash
  • vi /flash/config.txt (add the content specified)
  • sync
  • mount -o remount,ro /flash

Specidifed content to your file:

hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_drive=2
config_hdmi_boost=4
hdmi_group=1

This will play your HDMI audio…

On Overclocking, someone posted: “I got my Raspberry Pi from Newark/element14 and so far it seems to like”:

arm_freq=900

core_freq=450

sdram_freq=450
